Instructions:

Write a 600-word persuasive essay in which you take a stand on the issue. Do not use such phrases as “I think, I feel, I believe.” Do not use 2nd person pronouns (you, your, yourself), and do not use contractions (can’t, don’t, haven’t, hasn’t). Use facts and scientific explanations to prove your points. You may document references to your sources by paraphrasing, summarizing, quoting, and synthesizing. However, I require that you use at least one or two sources for this particular assignment. See the MLA style latest edition of in-text citations and works cited documentation from the Resource list above.
Your grade will be based upon the thoroughness, accuracy, and insightful responses; also, your use of correct spelling, grammar, and correct sentence and paragraph format will be evaluated (ALWAYS spell check your responses), and/or use of outside sources.

Getting Started
Writing a literature review isn’t just a way to gather information about a topic; a literature review also has several other excellent purposes. Here are a few:
• It helps improve your writing skills.
• It helps improve your critical-thinking skills.
• It helps improve your ability to organize and collate a lot of information.
• It showcases your talents of interpretation, synthetization, analysis, and developing an argument.
• It not only helps you learn the history of a topic but also provides you with ideas about gaps in a topic (that you might want to use for your capstone project, for example).
• Sometimes, it even leads to an idea for a new/revised theory or hypothesis.
Thus, while conducting all those library searches and reading many articles might seem overwhelming and tedious at times, keep in mind that you are making some history!
Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:

Background Information
For this assignment, you will build on the introduction to the literature review that you submitted in Workshop Two. Keep in mind that you will be using this literature review for your capstone project. So, for example, if you are planning a capstone project topic on gratitude (it is related to positive psychology and there is a lot of research on the topic) and you want to write a series of gratitude letters to others to test the research in this area and use it as a possible intervention in your work with others as a Relationship Coach (which is one of the 12 categories), then your literature review should focus on gratitude, gratitude visits, gratitude as an intervention in life coaching.
Another example would be if you are focusing on Executive Coaching and you want to put together a series of lectures or lessons for leaders, then your literature review could focus on positive interventions for leaders or motivation or just executive coaching.
Always make sure that your focus is on life coaching and positive psychology. This assignment is a draft, so your instructor will provide suggestions that you can use as you work on your final literature review assignment that you will submit in Workshop Six. You would be wise to continue working on your literature review throughout the coming weeks so that you have a polished final product to submit in Workshop Six.

Strategy, Financing, HRIS, and Putting It All Together
For this module’s SLP assignment, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation that is similar in content to what an entrepreneur would present to a group of potential investors. You will cover only one area of your Business Plan that the potential investors have concerns about: a strategic financing plan.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes as if you were giving the presentation to an audience of potential investors. Be sure to review the background material, especially the material on strategy and financing.
Your presentation will include slides that cover your response to the investors’ question: Describe the strategic analysis of your proposed business venture and answer the question of what type and amount of financing you seek.
Your presentation should be at least six slides (not counting title and reference slides) using at least two high quality peer-reviewed references from the background material and outside references as needed. Your presentation must include speaker notes at the bottom of each slide in the notes section. (Recall that your slides should contain 5 words and a picture on each slide. All the other words you want to put on the slides go on the notes pages.)
Add appropriate artwork and backgrounds to make the slides visually appealing to a professional audience of investors. For example, although I prefer brightly colored backgrounds, I would not use those colors with this type of presentation audience unless your business is in an appropriately creative industry. For instance, if you want to open a modern art museum, it is acceptable to have artistic slides. On the other hand, if you are looking for funding for an online company that sells medical devices, you would want to remain “business professional.”

Empirical research on the profit impact of marketing strategy indicates that firms with a high market share are often quite profitable, but so are many firms with low market share. The least profitable firms are those with moderate market share. This is sometimes referred to as the “hole-in-the-middle” problem.
Porter explains that firms with high market share are successful because they pursue a cost-leadership strategy, and firms with low market share are successful because they employ market segmentation or differentiation to focus on a small but profitable market niche. Firms in the middle are less profitable because of the lack of a viable generic strategy.

4.1 Discussion. The Whole of the Commandments
Getting Started
In our second devotional on the Ten Commandments, we looked at our God as “jealous” God. Now, as we continue our examination of the Ten Commandments and how they can serve to direct, form and even fulfill our lives, we will step back to gain perspective on how our God wants to keep us close to Him, to keep us as those who belong to only Him. Since our God came into humanity through the line of Judah, a Jewish man, we can also learn much about the Ten Commandments and our “jealous God” by viewing them through the cultural lens of the Jewish people.
Upon successful completion of this discussion, you will be able to:
• Discuss the Ten Commandments as a whole, noting how they are all interwoven with one another.
• Share how breaking one of the commandments may lead to breaking all of them.

Background Information
These Ten Commandments are considered to be the quintessential message about right and wrong, a timeless standard that defies human creation. In other words, we did not state what is right or wrong—these standards exist outside of our own creation. Moreover, these statutes of right and wrong are all woven together to form the very basis, the very fabric of our lives. When one is broken, the others are broken as well.
For this experiential devotional series, we are to consider the Ten Commandments as a whole. Examine the Ten Commandments as if they were not only written to inform our lives, but also written to form our lives, to form our very souls. In order to keep us close to our God, in order to form us into His very image, His commandments tell us what He looks like, how He acts, and what He wants from us—so that we can flourish in life, so that we can have life in its fullness.
Re-examine the Ten Commandments. Now, rather than regard them in a “list” format, see how they are arranged so that if one is broken or missing, then the entire pattern has been broken. For example, if we were to have other gods before our God, if we were to hold anything more crucial and important than Him in our lives, the other commandments are rendered ineffectual and of little worth, for they exist to keep us close to our one and only living God.
1. Do not have any other god before God.
2. Do not make yourself an idol.
3. Do not take the Lord’s name in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.
5. Honor your mother and father.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.

The Reflect and Repond and Self-Assessment sections at the end of each image in your textbooks will help to guide your personal reflection.
INSTRUCTIONS
Select one image (chapter) from this Module’s Learn section. Complete the Respond and Reflect and Self-Assessment sections at the conclusion of the image.
Your Habitudes: Changing Culture Assignment must be completed based on the following criteria:
• Minimum of 3 full pages
• Current APA format
• Introduction or summary of the image to provide context and draw the reader in
• Responses to the prompts included at the conclusion of the image
• Recommendation(s) for the use of this image (i.e., these principles or concepts) in working with student-athletes
• Discussion about the holistic role of the athlete from a biblical worldview
• Clear biblical integration – do more than just include a Bible verse
• Include a title on the top line of the first page, followed by your name. No other identifying information is needed.
• Since this is a reflection paper, no references are required. However, you are expected to properly cite information using current APA format where appropriate.
• You must include the reference information for any sources in current APA format on a separate page.
