 “Critically evaluate the approaches taken by Scotland and another country of your choosing in assessing and upholding health as a human right. In your analysis, consider how sustainable leadership practices contribute to health improvement.” 

Students should base their discussions on the topics from the module to meet the learning outcomes. Supporting literature and research should be integrated throughout the text and there should be demonstration of a level of independent thinking, drawing from a comprehensive range of relevant literary sources.

What knowledge and/or skills will I develop by undertaking the assessment? 

  1. Critical analysis – create evidence-based knowledge, appraising evidence, policies, and guidelines. 
  2. Reflection-reflecting on one’s role in practice and on the future of service delivery taking a public health approach. 
  3. Time management – students make reasonably realistic estimate for study time considering the additional pressures of theory-practice and research driven nature of the course.
  4. Creating knowledge and appraising research/EBP/policies/ guidelines
  5. Cultural competence. Globalisation. Public challenges and social prescribing.
  6. Team-working/interprofessional relationship- students will reflect on their future roles within teams and professionals within their organisation.
  7. Leadership-introducing the students to their future role as leaders and service providers and shapers.
