Assessment Brief:
6.1 Guidance:
Assessment 1: Business Finance Case Study (BFCS) You will be assigned a case study ON 10/03/2025 in which you need to analyse and provide specialist answers to the industry-style scenario questions; these case studies will relate to the readings in learning materials found in topics 1 to 5. Five (5) cases will be assigned randomly 2 weeks before the deadline; further instructions will be provided on Moodle closer to the submission date. Detailed instructions will be available near the time of the assessment.
Assessment 2: Simulation Exercise in MyLab Finance. You will complete a simulation assessment for businesses from different sectors on 04/04/2025 opening at 10:00; this is a 1.5-hour test. The assessment will be developed from five industry options and released in MyLab Finance at the start. These will be based on formative practice set weekly from topics 1 to 10. Your answers will be automatically marked by the platform; you will get your grade on Moodle’s guidebook.
6.2 Formative assessments: The formative assessments have in several presentation expectations, leading to high interpersonal engagement and communication flow. It is for this singular reason the group evaluations are very intentional. Additionally, lecture and pedagogy delivery will be highly interactive and will require a lot of feedback.
6.3 Feedback for summative coursework: Feedback will be provided using the composed and approved rubric metrics for each grade segment to populate the feedback summary portal on the Moodle page.
Module details and learning outcomes
This module aims to equip students with a Financial Management toolkit, to engage in International Business Finance matters which postgraduates in International Business should be able to address. The goal is to analyse how small, medium and large firms finance their economic activities in the global economy. The Learning Outcomes addressed are considered core to managerial and enterprise leadership roles in a 21st century fast changing economy.
