Older jobs that may have been relevant to a previous position may not be germane to the director-level position you want to apply to now. While no piece of paper will ever be able to authentically convey all your strengths and abilities, your resume is an important document that will help introduce your accomplishments and capacities to a new organization.

For this Assignment, you will update your resume and write a cover letter to apply for a director position at a fictitious organization.

To Prepare:

· Review the Learning Resources and Course Announcements.

· Review the Director Position in the Learning Resources.

· Update your resume.

· Write your cover letter.

By Day 7

Apply to one of the director positions by submitting your resume and a cover letter for the position you selected.

Be sure your resume:

· Relates to the position for which you are applying

· Includes your name, education, work history, and other information relevant to the position

Be sure your cover letter:

· Clearly indicates the position for which you are applying

· Includes key elements of a business letter (applicant name and address, hiring agency name and address, opening and closing salutations, etc.)

· Is no more than one page, single-spaced

· Describes in a compelling manner why you are a good fit for the job

Submit your resume and cover letter.
