This week, we will continue applying foundational pharmacology concepts to the cardiovascular system while strengthening your understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Remember, pharmacokinetics describes what the body does to a drug through absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME), whereas pharmacodynamics describes what the drug does to the body.
As advanced practice nurses, it is important to recognize how patient-specific factors may influence medication response, safety, and therapeutic outcomes. These factors include age, genetics, sex, ethnicity, diet, smoking, alcohol use, substance use, comorbid conditions, and organ function.

Each module includes Weekly Study Questions designed to guide your learning by emphasizing key concepts, clinical priorities, and clinical decision-making skills. Use these questions to help focus your review of the readings and learning activities, prepare for course assessments and certification examinations, and strengthen the clinical reasoning needed for real-world advanced practice.
