This assignment is an individual assignment.
You are part of an HR team of a Vietnamese company having international business in several regions over the world. As an HR director, you are requested to propose an international human resource management plan to manage the international staffing. You are to formulate a critical report to the board of directors with the following objectives:
- Discuss the causes and impact of expatriate failure.
- Evaluate the current international staffing practices in the chosen company.
- Recommend an effective international staffing strategy.
To accomplish these objectives, you will be expected to
a) develop an analysis the causes and impact of expatriate failure. This analysis will be based on a critical evaluation of the relevant literature about the theoretical debate on expatriate management, Cross Cultural Management and IHRM,
b) evaluate the expatriate management practices in the company you choose; This evaluation should consider the expatriate training, reward, performance management, and talent management practices
c) draw conclusions and suggest recommendations regarding to a thoughtful and practical international staffing management strategy
The report should include an abstract or executive summary that briefly summarises the aims and main conclusions of the report. The main text should be divided into a logical sequence that identifies the problems and includes correctly cited illustrations (diagrams, graphs and tables). It is essential to include correctly cited references for all text and concepts originating from other authors.
HRM issues relating to the organisation in the issue need to be included, such as resourcing and diversity issues. This should include a commentary on talent management.
In order to reach a conclusion, the future directions need to be considered, such as your estimation of the organisation’s change management plan and how organisational development will be implemented. Be sure to state what you believe will be the success factors against which the plan will be monitored and assessed. Show the influence of communication, and finally, state your recommendations in your conclusions.
You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs, and subsections as appropriate. Your report should be written in a concise, formal business style using 1.5 spacing, type face in Times new roman or Arial and font size 12. You shall present your work in the main body of the coursework, the work presented in appendix will not be marked.
A bibliography should be provided using the APA 7th referencing system. Inaccurate use of referencing may lead to issues of plagiarism if not applied correctly.
You are advised to write between 4,000 words. There will be a penalty of a deduction of 10% of the mark (after internal moderation) for work exceeding the word limit by 10% or more. The word limit includes quotations and citations, but excludes the reference list.
